Our team:
We provide the building blocks used by Bloomberg's 4,500 engineers that deliver high quality, high-performance functionality to our customers - fast. You will be part of an evolving team that instills standards and best practices for availability, reliability, scalability, performance and efficiency.
You will work on automation of the continuous deployment process from end-to-end, with emphasis on systems and applications reliability. This includes a strong understanding of systems automation, monitoring and metrics, virtualization and the SDLC.
You'll need to have:
• A solid understanding of automation, Continuous Integration, deployment and operations concepts
• Experience coding and scripting in Python, Perl, Bash, Ruby or JavaScript
• Familiarity with systems and IT operations
• Experience working with Nagios, Munin, Splunk, Klog, OpenTSDB or Grafana
• 3+ years of experience with release engineering, system build and process automation
• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related
field (or equivalent expertise)
We'd love to see:
• Familiarity with virtualization and containerization technologies such as AWS, Rackspace, Google App Engine, OpenStack, Vagrant, Terraform, VirtualBox, VMWare, KVM, Docker and CoreOS
• The ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools such as Jenkins, Chef, Puppet, Gyp, Make, GIT, GitHub, SVN
• An understanding of the Agile environment - frequent, incremental code testing and deployment
