We have an excellent opportunity for a versatile, experienced Software Developer who appreciates Math (math reasoning/computer algebra). You will have a unique opportunity to play a leading role in migrating software projects from R&D to product-level operational delivery.
Position can be at Boulder, CO, Austin, TX, or Iowa City, IA, site location.
Here is what you will get to do:
Working in a small-team, geographically distributed environment, you will create and test commercial software applications, primarily for education and training industries. Primary responsibility is to create, test, and maintain automated Math scoring services. You will need excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and be process oriented with a focus on driving operational best practices.
Qualifications
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Minimum of 5 years current working experience in the following:
• Professional programming experience on Unix/Linux platforms
• Git/Git flow workflow
• Python, Go, Java, JavaScript, AngularJS
• MongoDB/NoSQL
• Docker, AWS, Elastic Beanstalk
• REST, SOAP, or comparable web technologies
• Strong math background
• Ability to develop robust, production quality code
• Comfortable working with multiple and/or new programming languages
• Impeccable problem-solving skills
• Ability to define problems and focus team members on timely solutions
Preferred skills, interest in, exposure to, and/or experience with any of the following:
• Computer algebra
• Artificial intelligence/machine learning
• Expert systems
• Experience using Agile development methodologies
• Ability to work independently and as a key contributor in a small team.
