Job Title
• Corporate Accountant
Role The role is based in the Corporate Reporting Department in Peterborough reporting to the Finance Manager - Accounting.
Responsibilities
Quarterly Reporting
• Completion financial submissions for News UK, Wireless Group and Unruly using Upstream and Hyperion.
• Preparation of key quarterly reporting documents including entity balance sheet analytical review to assist in Consolidation and Treasury submissions.
• Maintaining stakeholder relationships with subsidiary contacts to ensure timetables are met.
• Sarbanes Oxley Compliance Project
• Involvement in testing of finance processes.
• Establish and maintain accounting policies and controls throughout News UK and where relevant UK subsidiaries.
• Communication of policy and processes in respect of GRC.
Financial Statements
• Preparation of financial statements for News UK and its subsidiary entities to agreed timetables.
• Assisting management with audit queries and providing auditors with deliverables throughout period.
• Understand group structure and identify ways of streamlining operations and reduce legal entity numbers.
• Preparation of dormant financial statements and arrange signing with appropriate directors.
• Monthly reconciliations
• Completion and ownership of a number of monthly reconciliations across News UK and its subsidiaries.
• Responsible for clearing reconciling items and providing explanations for keymovements monthly and quarterly.
Other
• Assist in integration of subsidiaries into News UK finance team
• Provide support and analysis to management as required

Qualification & Experience – qualified ACA/ACCA accountant

Relationship Management - proactively communicates to stakeholders who have a reliance on work done and ensure relationships with key stakeholders are maintained and developed

Additional Requirements
• Exam finalist or newly qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA)
• Experience of preparing financial statements (Under FRS 102 would be preferable)
• Up to date technical knowledge
• Flexible and adaptable to changing and fast pace environment
• Drive and enthusiasm to develop the role
