Role Purpose
The Manager, Direct-to-Consumer Products will oversee the entire product development lifecycle from strategic planning, launch, post-launch optimization and product roadmap execution of NBC Sports’ new direct-to-consumer video subscription product NBC Sports Gold.
Responsibilities
Support the day-to-day cross-platform product management of NBC Sports Gold and long term product development cycle from strategic planning to roadmap vision and execution
Define product scope, feature requirements, business rules, prioritization, technical specifications and coordinate the delivery of documentation and assets
Establish domain expertise and become a local authority on the latest innovations in direct-to-consumer video subscription and OTT products
Work closely with business stakeholders, project management, technology, marketing, design and editorial teams as well as external partners and stakeholders
Help conduct quality assurance and testing of NBC Sports Gold and associated applications and help develop user stories and test cases
Ensure the successful implementation of products and services, including prioritization of features and functionality
Measure product and feature performance by identifying key indicators and establishing metrics for engagement and recommendations for improvement, with emphasis on increasing conversions and consumption
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Minimum five (5) years’ digital media experience.
Minimum three (3) years’ experience in digital product management
Experience working with content management systems and digital publishing of video, news and information
Proven record of successfully delivering quality digital products while working with multiple initiatives and deadlines
Additional Skills Required
Knowledge of web and mobile standards, best practices, design and usability principles
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Understanding and dissemination of digital analytics
Knowledge of front-end development languages such as HTML, CSS and Javascript
Ability to self-start, self-manage, and meet deadlines, and to keep track of both the big picture and small details
Ability to coordinate with internal departments (sales, marketing, research, project management, development, design, and others) to complete projects on time
Ability to manage outside resources, including vendors and freelancers
Ability to think critically and creatively, and leverage logic and experience when troubleshooting and solving problems
Ability to transform business, editorial and design needs into product requirements
Familiarity with all web and mobile platforms, including Apple iOS, Android, Windows Phone 8 and BlackBerry platforms
