Director, IT Network Operations
The Director, Global Network Operations manages the prioritization and delivery of multiple programs and resources related to our Global Infrastructure Shared Services (GISS) including global network services, global voice services and security requirements. The Director manages the resources within the network and voice services team and vendors to ensure operational efficiencies for the department as well as managing the team budget, staffing, and on-call level 3 support.
He/She will provide strategic and tactical leadership for engineering, implementation and operation of Global Network Services (Router, Switch, DNS, DHCP, WAN, WAN Acceleration) technologies, and must have the ability to define and lead IT responses to changing marketplace situations and changing business conditions. He/She will work closely with members of management including senior business management to design, develop, and implement networking strategies to improve GISS global capability and availability. Primary accountabilities are managing a number of 3rd party outsourcing contracts responsible for the day-to-day operations, design and implementation of GISS Global Network infrastructure.
This position oversees the project implementation, and operational support of all network and voice technologies in use within the GISS organization, and ensures the SLA’s for networking and voice services are met for the business.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Management Oversight: 35%
• Senior team member on a team of Global Network Services Team.
• Oversees installations and configurations of multiple networking devices (i.e., Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Service Modules, security appliances, IP addressing, etc.)
• Establish standards for network hardware and services.
• Establish network usage policies and communicate policies to affected audience(s).
• Develop performance management procedures for network infrastructure.
• Manage and maintain network resources, globally, throughout the enterprise.
• Manage IT Staff relationships to insure service levels and availability of all networks.
• Manage outages, identify root cause and resolve all network issues within allowed service levels.
2. Resource / Staffing Management: 35%
• Team leader for global network services and global voice services teams.
• Leads the production meetings and reports the status of production systems.
• Carries out staff management tasks such as resource management, staff development, employee reviews, etc.
• Participate in the change control, production acceptance and event management processes.
• Participate in the development of operational procedures and policies.
• Participate in the development of a viable, cost-effective disaster recovery capability.
• Develop report monthly statistics and progress against internal and external service levels.
• Communicate change requests, issues and resolutions, event status as well other important matters to all areas of IT and customer departments.
• Identify, resolve and escalate business issues as appropriate.
• Manage after hours and on-call support.
• Manage Network capacity and provide network utilization statistics to the capacity planner.
3. Project Management: 20%
• Provides leadership for projects.
• Responsible for design review, implementation, and support of projects from inception to completion.
•Assigns the appropriate resources to projects.
4. Provide oral and written status reports to IT management and customers: 10%
Requirements:
BA/BS required
Competencies:
• Minimum 5 years employment in the IT industry working with a major systems and vendors.
• Minimum 5 years experience as a network administrator.
• Minimum 3 years experience with Cisco Systems required. .
• Minimum 2 years experience with EIGRP, BGP, MPLS, in a multi-vendor network is required.
• Minimum 1 year experience with Symantec security products.
• Two or more years of entertainment experience is a plus.
• Experience with Symantec, CheckPoint, Bluecoat, Cisco Systems is a plus
• Working knowledge with other systems technologies (IP, EIGRP, MPLS, BGP.) is a major plus.
• Bachelor degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Knowledge of:
• Enterprise Networking Administration (Cisco, Juniper, InfoBlox, Riverbed)
• IP Addressing assignment, addressing, troubleshooting, performance tuning.
• DNS, DHCP administration, management, and support.
• Experience with various network operations tools, performance monitoring tools, diagnostics tools.
• Experience in large heterogeneous Network Infrastructure environment
Skill In:
