At Pearson Clinical Assessment, we are moving away from traditional paper-based assessments to a catalog of digital products while maintaining the gold-standard quality of these products. We are in the midst of a fundamental cultural change and looking to create a team to make this happen more quickly.
The Software Developer is responsible for maintaining and supporting the needs and requirements of Field Research and supporting departments. The primary focus includes data collection systems, administration, and support.
Primary position responsibilities:
• Coding, updating, testing and documenting computer programs.
• Develops programs and procedures adhering to established departmental standards and guidelines under the supervision of the manager and designated senior staff members.
• Participate in the planning, design, and implementation of various data collection projects including team sites and complex workflows.
• Effectively administer and support data collection application instances.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or technical degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science and/or computer related field.
• 2-5 years working experience.
• Possess basic working knowledge and understanding of Java EE, C#, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, SQL, HTML, CSS, Silverlight, XAML, MVVM, MVC.
• Strong knowledge in RDBMS.
• Experience with mobile development is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal communication and technical writing skills are required.
• Cooperative team player that works well across departments as well as directly with the development teams of end customers.
• Ability to realize that the systems that you create will ultimately facilitate data exchanges between departmental partners.
• Strong desire to ensure that the calculations and information you control are extremely accurate.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and to appropriately prioritize tasks in an fast-paced environment.
• Ability to be at ease working in a continuously collaborative and iterative environment while realizing software is an ever-changing product and willingness to incorporate new technologies to expand the solution.
• Sense of excitement about developing solutions for new markets from the ground up. This role will craft the technology that will drive the future of new business.
• Basic to intermediate working knowledge of Windows-MS office.
