The main purpose of the Pre-degree Foundation Programme is to prepare students to succeed in their degree studies:
• To lecture Mathematics within the Pre-degree Foundation Programme
• Fundamental algebraic and numerical operations; Ratio and proportion; Factorisation; Simplifying complex fractions; Special products; Radicals; algebraic and numerical operations; Functions and graphs; Inequalities; Sequences and series etc.
• To monitor and assist the academic and personal development of the students on the programme
• To assist in the administration and departmental affairs and activities as required by the Programme Head
• To work with the Programme Head on developing new course materials and curricula if required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lecturing and tutoring
• Setting and marking of assessments
• Preparation of notes and additional study materials
• Quality Assurance of material at main campus and the other campuses
• General administration
• General academic administration
• Assistance with the preparation, co-ordination and attendance at functions, events, registration and activities (open/ career days)

Qualifications
Minimum qualification:
• A relevant undergraduate degree (preferably with Mathematics or qualitative techniques at a third year level) or a relevant education degree with Mathematics or the teaching of Mathematics at a third year level
• A relevant honours degree
• A relevant higher degree or education qualification such as Post Graduate qualification in education (e.g. HDE, PGCE, PGCHE) or Honours degree will be an advantage
