SENIOR PRODUCT MANAGER
As a Senior Product Manager on our Learning Analytics team you will be empowered with building innovative Learning Analytics solutions throughout Pearson products which are founded in learning science and designed to drive positive learning outcomes. Your ability to leverage research, market analysis, usability, and you're always-learning, data-driven approach will help to build a collaborative vision and roadmap that will truly make a difference in learners lives.
As an expert in the data field you will collaborate with highly talented data scientists, data technologists, product analysts, and data architects to solve some of the most challenging problems in the Learning Analytics space today. Together you will develop platform software solutions to help students learn the right thing for them at the right time.
High Level Responsibilities
• Accountable to define and protect the scope of customer facing learning analytics capabilities and features
• Accountable for product lifecycle management of learning analytics capabilities and features
• Participate in cross-functional team to define product specific learner outcomes and supporting learning analytics
• Accountable for innovation within the learning analytics domain
• Responsible for managing capability dependencies across other key groups and ensuring learning analytics delivery for product categories.

Requirements:
• 3+ years’ related work experience, including product lifecycle management.
• The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, is analytical, detail and results oriented with excellent problem-solving skills and a strong work ethic. He/she is a highly motivated self-starter. This individual is an evangelist for his/her product and has a deep understanding of his/her customers’ needs.
• Experience interacting with individuals at all levels, strong time management and communication skills a must.
• Strong understanding of effective report/dashboard design and standards. A passionate practitioner of effective data visualization. Familiarity with industry best practices around data visualizations such as those from experts like Edward Tufte or Stephen Few.
• Strong familiarity with the software product lifecycle.
• Strong Project Management skills for bringing projects from an idea to production while mapping dependencies across the respective required teams.
• Strong familiarity with learning and content analytics a plus!
• The ideal candidate for this role will have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. A Master’s degree or higher would be an asset but is not required.
• Proven leadership ability to influence and inspire people indirectly, lead by example, engage and effectively build multidisciplinary teams and alliances, and facilitate positive change in a large organization.
• This position requires some travel to conferences and team meetings (20%) and will require frequent use of web-based remote video and project collaboration tools.

• Has working knowledge of learning analytics overall plan and how it contributes to category plan.
• Has working knowledge of specific market opportunity or customer needs and expectations into product tool and component design.
• Consults with other stakeholders to assess options and determine the most efficient and cost-effective approach to building learning analytics.
• Has working knowledge of innovation within product capability across categories.
• Understands from design team efficacy requirements and understands how to embed efficacy capabilities into functional product tools and components.
• Is a member of cross-functional product teams with moderate guidance
• Provides input to the team on translating customer and technical requirements into well-engineered, tested and deployed product capabilities.
• Interfaces, with moderate guidance, with stakeholders to determine feasibility for functional capabilities to meet customer expectations and needs.
• Has working knowledge on how to build and develop product capabilities with the customer experience in mind, based on inputs on customer intelligence from other stakeholders.
• Part of the team, with moderate guidance, that investigates new approaches for product build based on examining new technology emerging in the learning analytics market.
• Able to identify external or internal obstacles to learning analytics products delivery or profitability and monitors to ensure that product teams work within parameters of budget.
