Overview and Responsibilities
The Senior Analyst will be an analytical thinker responsible for supporting the ad sales research needs (linear, digital, and social audience measurement/analysis) of Viacom’s suite of cable nets for our sales and marketing teams, and for supporting key research projects and initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Utilize cross-platform viewership data (linear, digital, and social) to create thoughtful and innovative audience analyses in order to best position and distinguish our networks in the marketplace
• Support research needs of National Ad Sales team with ad hoc requests and special projects
• Create thoughtful and innovative audience analyses in order to strategically position and distinguish our networks in the marketplace
• Collect, analyze, and interpret linear ratings data, digital measurement metrics, and social performance
• Draw insights from secondary sources to establish value of VMN networks to advertising partners
• Keep on top of Industry trends and key consumer insights
• Contribute to innovative thought leadership pieces that advance the business and maintain our brands’ position as the expert on the young adult consumer
Basic Qualifications:
• 2+ years of related media experience
• Related college degree
• Knowledge of media metrics/math and measurement methodologies
• Experience with linear ratings systems (Nielsen TV Toolbox, Star Media, Lake 5, etc.) or digital measurement systems (Omniture, comScore, @Plan, etc.)
• Knowledge of syndicated data systems (MRI, JD Power, Forrester, YouGov)
Additional Qualifications:
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Highly organized, strong attention to detail, and ability to work in fast-paced environment and multitask
• Ability to solve problems strategically and think creatively
