Position Overview:
The Marketing Assistant within the Global Courseware division of Pearson is responsible for assisting one or more Product Marketers who focus on digital and content strategies for Business courses in higher education.
Position Responsibilities:
This position assists the Product Marketers in wide-ranging tasks that support the marketing and business objectives of the team in the markets above.
Responsibilities include:
• Participate in synthesis of market research and learning science insights associated with assigned products. Assist with market research – data collection and entry-level data analysis – to inform decisions regarding products and strategy.
• Assist in the drafting and implementation of marketing plans, including support in creating assets such as sales tools, market forecasting reports, customer-facing communications, and marketing collateral.
• Prepare materials and handle the logistics for internal meetings as well as customer-facing conferences, events, and virtual events.
• Assist with market development and market seeding activities for new product launches, including tracking participants and payments on a central document.
• Participate in and support customer events as needed, including occasional demos of our technology to customers, at conferences as well as online.
• Fulfill requests and answer questions from professors and sales representatives.
• Setup and maintain a tracking database to monitor market use of technology products and/or textbooks.
• Support the training of local marketing members and field personnel on product enhancements, as well as marketing/sales campaigns. Build relationships with internal stakeholders such as North America marketing and sales in order to effectively serve the needs of the customers.
• Grow and maintain a student advisory board via activities such as recruitment, project organization, administrative support, logistics, and communications.
• Contribute to team initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Excellent organizational and written and oral communication skills required.
• Detail oriented with a high commitment to quality.
• Experience and interest in working in a fast-paced work environment which requires problem solving and handling multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required; experience with Google docs preferred.
• Sales and/or customer-facing experience a plus.
• Positive attitude, attentive to one’s communication tone, and accepting of change.
• Passion for education and interest in educational software is preferred.
