The Construction industry represents 10%-12% of global GDP and 12%-15% of the world’s workforce, Autodesk’s construction customers deliver some of the most iconic structures in the world, as well as the everyday buildings in which we live, work, and play and the infrastructure which supports the global population. As Marketing Manager, you will be at the centre of this exciting transformation responsible for crafting and telling our story to the construction industry. Specifically, you will create, execute, and measure marketing programs that target general contractors, trades, and the construction ecosystem as they discover, decide, and buy Autodesk products.
The ideal candidate has experience in leveraging understanding of customer personas, uses data-driven insights to optimize marketing efforts, and is able to think strategically while still being hands on.
As Marketing Manager for geographies in Europe, Asia-Pacific, and other emerging countries, you will drive awareness, preference, and demand for Autodesk’s portfolio of construction solutions, working in collaboration with product, industry, and field marketing managers to develop and measure integrated marketing programs. Working with our team of thought leaders, industry strategists, and technologists, you will craft compelling and competitively differentiated messages and programs which will help Autodesk achieve lasting competitive differentiation in the Construction industry.
In addition to developing marketing programs and strategies to support the overall business objectives, you will create content (editorial, web, sales enablement, ad copy, etc.) that illustrates a unique and compelling value proposition to our target audience and helps field and e-commerce teams nurture prospects through the buyer’s journey.
The successful candidate has demonstrated a strong ability to analyse market opportunities, develop marketing and sales strategies, plan marketing tactics, and drive the implementation of marketing efforts. It will be important to build industry knowledge and deep customer understanding in order to create compelling value propositions that drive preference and demand. Your experience, customer understanding and focus, strong analysis and marketing skills, creativity, attention to detail, and relentless drive for results will be critical to your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Defines construction industry marketing goals and objectives for the EMEA and APAC markets.
• Creates and ensure execution of the Construction industry annual marketing plan. The plan defines the messages to be communicated, target audiences, goals to be achieved, fit with overall Autodesk and AEC strategies, and integrated marketing programs to be executed. The plan includes all marketing channels, timelines, program success metrics, and resources required.
• Collaborates with product and industry teams and drives alignment on regional marketing initiatives.
• Directs and contributes to internal marketing materials and presentations to promote a common understanding of the industry strategy and vision. These may include internal web pages, white papers, sales kits, presentations, etc.
• Provides vision, guidance, and relationship building with field marketing and corporate marketing to assure initiation and successful execution of awareness and preference generating activities, such as PR, events, user groups, and product reviews.
• Works with reseller channel and direct sales teams to assure sales enablement aligns with industry marketing priorities and messages.
• Builds relationships with and influences industry associations, analysts and press to positively influence their perspective on Autodesk’s efforts in the Construction industry.
• Creates market awareness, through thought-leadership activities including articles, whitepapers, speaking engagements, sponsorships and involvement with key 3rd party organizations.
Requirements:
• Extensive experience marketing software-related high-tech products
• Experience in the Construction space is a huge plus
• A solid understanding of modern marketing practices, including content marketing, social media and other digital platforms, automation and marketing analytics.
• Successful track record leading solution or industry marketing initiatives, creating marketing plans and communication programs.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills.
• Ability to work effectively in global virtual teams, and dispersed teams.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and drive decisions to closure.
• Demonstrates initiative and is self-driven.
• Thrives in a dynamic environment where requirements shift to meet changing business needs.
• Experience managing marketing budgets and demonstrating ROI.
• Ability to establish credibility and achieve positive impact in customer, analyst and press interactions.
• A team player who is willing to engage in both strategic and tactical work as business needs dictate.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
• BA/BS degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications or Construction Management field. MBA / MA preferred.
