Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the SVP of Facilities, the Vice President of Strategy and Support Services will provide oversight for the daily Rock Center Support Services of a 2.5M RSF portfolio containing commercial office space, amenity areas, studios and control rooms, technology equipment rooms and related critical infrastructure. The Rock Center Portfolio consists of several facilities within the NY 30 Rockefeller Plaza campus as well as the CNBC and Technology Center facilities located in Englewood Cliffs, NJ. The company’s support services include hospitality and conferencing, food services, print distribution services, fitness center, audio visual and transportation.
The ideal VP of Strategy and Support Services candidate is an innovative, people oriented, results driven professional with a persistent focus on customer service and a strong background in analytics and continuous improvement. This a highly collaborative position which is responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing programs and controls for the Rock Center Facilities portfolio. Candidate should be versed in performance management metrics, SLAs and KPIs and be able to report out to senior management. This candidate must exercise strong judgement in identification and execution of strategic initiatives.
The position requires a candidate with proven leadership ability to facilitate and guide the support services organization, focusing on efficiencies and exceptional customer service. The leader must influence, motivate, and lead others to meet the challenges of a highly customer-centric operational environment.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Lead the strategy and execution of the Facilities Business Service areas with a prioritization on service excellence and performance.
• Prepare, maintain and manage capital and operating budgets.
• Collaborate with other senior leaders of the Facilities Organization to prepare and execute the Company’s Long Range Plan (LRP).
• Identify opportunities that leverage best practices and common standards across the enterprise.
• Drive the creation, implementation and governance of cross functional quality initiatives concentered on ensuring high availability and reliability throughout the portfolio.
• Develop relevant SOPs and MOPs as identified across the Facilities and Operations departments. Gain consensus to push change forward while keeping variation across sites to a minimum.
• Champion quality initiatives based on Lean principles.
• Collaborate and communicate with internal and external stakeholders, develop multiple communication channels and means of defining operational rigor and success.
• Provide project management supervision over Support Services initiatives. Track project budgets and schedules to ensure goals and milestones are being met.
• Responsible for the strategic vision and implementation of the Facilities Rock Center Information Quality initiative to create and house all applicable SOPs, MOPs and other relevant methods and procedures.
Qualifications/Requirements
• Minimum of ten (10) years of previous experience serving in the role of program manager at a facility of comparable size, comparable function, with similar infrastructure.
• Graduate degree in a field requiring project management skill sets.
• Prior experience running a large-scale facility or operation and/or client facing teams with a significant operating budget
• Work experience with global team on global projects.
• Experience in document management, system administration, and data governance.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a group of managers responsible for various support services departments within a Facilities Organization.
• Proven track record of interacting effectively with all levels of management.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and influencing skills.
• Communicate effectively with internal clients as well as negotiate and establish working relationships with vendors and partners critical to the business
• Consultative style: able to provide excellent client service while also able to diplomatically push back with alternate approaches or solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and meet project deadlines.
• Experience working in a functionally aligned environment and demonstrating ability to operate effectively with multiple reporting lines and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to work in diverse roles on several projects simultaneously while prioritizing effectively.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and project tracking software
