We process more than a billion payment transactions a year across 190 countries, and our strength is to leverage data to optimize for best customer experience. Payments analytics team partners with Global Payments team at Netflix to build scalable data products and surface insights. Through our efforts, we help manage customer churn, monitor payments fraud, and test for best payment options for our 86 million customers around the world.
We are hiring for an experienced visualization engineer to join our team and help build our next set of data products. In this role, you will have the freedom to forge the path for our future analytical tools, innovate on design best practices, and contribute to the larger team along the way.
Responsibilities
• Work closely with business leaders & other team members to come up with high quality data products
• Utilize visualization best practices, and design thinking to display complex data in a simple but insightful way
• Implement solutions using open source libraries (D3, React, etc) alongside enterprise tools such as Tableau
• Own and maintain existing products & come up with ways to improve them
• Use technical chops to debug & learn in a production environment & build solutions to scale
• Understand payments business to identify opportunities and propose solutions
Qualifications
• Passion for information design, visual narrative and storytelling with data
• Track record of creating rich and compelling data products using D3.js, React.js, or equivalent
• Working knowledge or familiarity with Tableau
• Knowledgeable around user adoption and why some products are easy to use than others
• Comfortable using SQL in a large scale warehouse environment and one or more programming languages
• Exposure to technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Druid, ElasticSearch, etc
