Responsibilities
Provide planning and analytical support to the Universal Parks and Resorts Merchandise Team. Work directly with the product development team on category by location Annual Operating Plans in support of overall company financial goals. Analyze category and location performance to identify opportunities and threats. Responsible for a group of Product categories in conjunction with product development team.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work with the Buying team to develop Annual Operating Plans by category and location. Provides basis for Company Per Cap and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) % components of location Annual Operating Plans (AOPs).
• Analyze performance of each category/location vs. plan and prior year to identify opportunities and threats.
• Develop and generate routine reports for Senior Management and UPRM team as well as ad hoc reporting as necessary. Requires the ability to leverage Microsoft Excel and Access applications into a strong process to ensure data integrity.
• Prepare category teams for line/business reviews. Include review of financial performance, pricing strategy, inventory summary, and performance by brand.
• Assortment planning for Special Events, Store opening and major development programs.
SCOPE: Non-routine; general policies applied to frequently changing situations; detailed understanding of technical issues. Influences decisions of moderate nature requiring high degree of tact.
Qualifications/Requirements
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree is required.
EXPERIENCE: 3-5 Years: Experience in Retail or Financial analysis; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
