Position Summary:
The Vice President of Employee Relations will be responsible for providing leadership and high level HR business partner support to key business units and C level executives (Marketing and Corporate Services Groups). Individual will partner with all assigned business units to develop and implement HR and organizational development initiatives, solutions and programs. This is both a strategic and hands-on role; the successful incumbent will know how to effectively and seamlessly move between the two ways of operating. This is a key and highly visible role.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Partners with executives and designated business units, to provide HR leadership, guidance and expertise in the areas of:
◦ Coaching and counseling managers and employees, at all levels, on all areas of performance management, work productivity and organization structure.
◦ Managing all employee relations issues in compliance with federal and state employment laws; partnering with internal employment counsel as applicable.
◦ Partnering with staffing, compensation and hiring managers on all talent acquisition needs.
◦ Policy communication, enforcement and education.
◦ Headcount/workforce management.
◦ Reviewing/analyzing monthly and/or quarterly HR reporting relative to assigned groups; identifying trends or concerns as needed; ensure data integrity.
◦ Conducting terminations and exit interviews.
◦ Supporting and managing annual compensation and performance appraisal processes.
• Collaborates with HR team to develop, recommend and implement corporate-wide HR programs as applicable.
• Facilitates HR processes and policy communication and ensures compliance and operational excellence; recommends process improvement as applicable.
• Provides guidance and feedback on HR solutions and programs and assesses impact to assigned business units.
• Monitors overall employee engagement, well-being and productivity for assigned business units.
• Maintains and establishes full awareness and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments and applicable state and federal employment laws.
• Manages and leads assigned programs or projects on deadline and within budget as applicable.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility:
• 1-2 HR Business Partners.
Minimum Qualifications:
• BS/BA Required; MBA or relevant graduate degree a plus.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience as an HR business partner supporting multiple executives and client groups in multiple locations.
• Must have well-rounded and demonstrated HR generalist skills including but not limited to the areas of employee relations, compensation, training and development, staffing and workforce planning; ability to coach, counsel and influence all levels of management and appropriately balance management and employee needs.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience effectively managing and leading people within an HR team.
• Prior experience working in a media or subscription based business preferred.

• Expert HR knowledge including best practice benchmarking.
• Well-rounded business acumen.
• Strong analytical skills and detail orientation.
• Ability to travel to client locations as applicable.
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Technical Skills:
• Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
