Job Summary:
Comcast Interactive Media (CIM) is seeking a Principal Web Developer to join our Engineering team.This group is responsible for ensuring the timely development, testing and release of Xfinity Home Security & Automation products with a high degree of quality that exceeds customer expectations.

In this role you will collaborate with other developers, designers and business managers to develop features for CIM web and mobile applications. This includes building prototypes, translating Designs and wireframe documents to web pages and stylesheets, API development, automating functional and unit tests as well as writing development documentation. While the primary responsibilities will include building new web apps from scratch, this candidate will have opportunities to contribute to all aspects of the products. You must be able to pick up new languages and technologies quickly, be a strong team player, and rapidly adapt to changing business and customer demands. As a Principal engineer, you will guide the team in all technical decisions throughout the design, development and release phases. Innovation is a big part of the role as well as mentoring/coaching junior members of the technical staff.
REQUIREMENTS:
• 11+ years experience building accessible, cross-platform web sites and web applications
• Extensive experience with most of: Ruby on Rails, HTML5, XML, CSS 3, Javascript, Jquery, AJAX and Java, Adobe Photoshop, web standards, browser compatibility/workarounds, accessibility laws and development techniques, HTTP and RESTful web services
• Knowledge of source control systems (Subversion, Git)
• Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Deployment tools (Jenkins, AntHillPro)
• Experience in caching especially in HTTP compliant caches.
• Deep understanding of the HTTP protocol
• Experience with Agile/Scrum
• Experience building large-scale web applications
• Experience with automated web application testing tools (Jasmine, Teaspoon, Cucumber)
• Familiarity with cloud computing (S3, SQS, Hadoop...)
• UNIX background (Solaris/Linux)
• DevOps experience
• Experience presenting technical material to technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience mentoring junior members of the technical staff
