Overview:
This position will provide financial forecasting, develop analysis and reporting capabilities to senior leadership. They will also monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements. They will track trends and provide insight for business decisions. They will work with many departments keeping all data updated and accurate. They will develop / own the competitor database. Position will include gross margin planning as well as various ad hoc projects.
Responsibilities:
Analytics
Provide analysis and research for business decision making for several key internal clients.
Interpreting data, analyzing results using statistical techniques and providing ongoing reports for stores & senior leadership.
Developing and implementing databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
Acquiring data from primary or secondary data sources and maintaining databases/data systems.
Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
Planning
Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
Maintain competitor database.
Gross margin planning and forecasting.
Review and manage monthly expenses and a detailed budget.
Outcomes
The successful candidate will turn data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions.
Requirements:
BA or BS Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or related areas of study or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience in financial development and analysis.
Excellent PC skills with a superior working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and other database software. Expert user of Excel and Access
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Possess strong oral and written, communication and presentation skills.
Be an individual who can work well both independently and cooperatively.
