Position Summary:
The Talent Liaison is responsible for coordinating and handling guests visiting the SiriusXM DC facilities. Candidate must possess a personable demeanor and work well with a variety of people. The Talent Liaison is also responsible for coordinating with security to ensure proper protocols are followed. In addition, the position requires managing artist schedules, handling all hospitality requests, and coordinating visit details with programming.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist with the functions of promotional setup and performance for on-site & off site events within the DC metro area and at the DC studio.
• Events include, but are not limited to: Town Hall, Artist Confidential, live broadcasts, remotes, concerts, sporting events and talent appearances.
• Converse comfortably with the public in an outgoing, friendly, and professional manner.
• Keep track of our vast inventory, which includes outgoing and incoming packages.
• Be familiar with SiriusXM Subscription plans, channels, products, current promotions and sweepstakes.
• Take direction and make decisions at events on the Macro and Micro level.
• Handle and distribute handouts and premiums.
• Setup and break-down of event materials i.e. tent, banners, sound system.
• Work closely with internal departments to help manage department projects (i.e. Programming, Graphics Department, Marketing, Talent Relations, Interactive/Web).
• Perform some basic office administrative functions including processing of invoices, prize fulfillment and other tasks.
• Coordinate visiting artists' interview schedules.
• Handle hospitality requests made by visiting guests.
• Organize and file releases and photos into shared drive files.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work week days, evenings, weekends, and limited holidays.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and familiarity with social networking websites.
• Some college education or equivalent work experience.
• Previous experience within the entertainment/media industry preferred.
• Previous experience within a talent relations function is a plus.
Requirements and General Skills:
• Part time hours are limited to a maximum 20 hour work week.
• Good public speaking and presentation skills.
• Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to pay attention to details and be organized.
• Ability to project professionalism over the phone and in person.
• Commitment to "internal client" and customer service principles.
• Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects.
• Spelling, grammar, proofreading and editing skills.
• Creative writing ability.
• Strong interest in current events and pop culture, as related to assigned channels / programs.
• Comfortable working with talent, artists and high profile individuals.
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Technical Skills:
• Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
