Applications Engineer - Metrology ProductsThe Metrology Product Specialist Team is seeking to recruit a Technical Applications Engineer for a flexible position covering technical sales support, and technical marketing, within our global sales network. Working in a team environment, the role covers all aspects of metrology and part measurement using our software products. Working predominantly with our PowerINSPECT product, you will apply your knowledge to a variety of portable measurement devices, coordinate measurement machines, and machining centres equipped with 3D measurement probes.Your role will include: -Providing pre-sales and post-sales technical support to the Global Sales, Product Specialist, and Applications Teams.Delivering formal presentations at user group meetings, seminars, webinars, and any other event as required, to demonstrate the benefits of our software and how to solve application problems.Supporting Customers using our internal support tools, and with on-site visits when necessary.Providing training and demonstrations to our Global Sales Teams, Product Specialists, Applications Teams, and to Customers whenever required.Creating Technical Marketing materials for our sales and marketing channel.Liaising with our sales channel and internal Development Teams to produce and approve specifications for new functionality that would enhance our software products.Assisting in the software testing process for current and any future software product that falls under the responsibility of the Metrology Product Specialist Team.Helping to maintain and develop formal documentation relating to the connection, use, and application of our software products.The ideal candidate will: -Already be working in an Engineering role within a company after gaining a good Engineering degree, or successfully completing an approved Engineering Apprenticeship scheme.Have some experience using any of the following hardware - Manual or CNC Coordinate Measuring Machines, portable inspection devices such as articulated arms with hard point probes or scanners, CNC Machining Centres fitted with 3D measuring probes.Have some experience using PowerINSPECT inspection softwareHave a keen interest in all aspects of Engineering, and be fully conversant with Engineering drawingsBe able to deliver effective presentations in a professional manor to all levels within an organisation.Be an advanced user of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office products, and video production software such as Camtasia.Have the ability to communicate problems and possible improvements effectively.Work confidently without supervision, and have excellent problem solving abilities.Have some experience of programming using high level languages such as Visual Basic, VB Script, J Script or C++Be willing to travel internationally if required.Autodesk makes software for people who make things.
