Role Scenario
We are looking for a Business Development executive with a passion for music and apps to help drive informed business decisions for Shazam and our partners. You will work cross functionally with Shazam’s global team accessing internal, industry and partner data to produce insights and strategy that drive user and revenue growth in established and emerging markets.
Where Does The Role Sit?
The role is based in Redwood City, and will report into our Director, Strategic Partnerships.
What Will you Do?
• Work closely with the Business Development team to qualify new opportunities, and support international growth through strategic partnerships
• Build understanding of the music, app and mobile OEM landscapes to make recommendations for existing and new business opportunities based on trends and data
• Compile usage and revenue reports on a weekly / monthly / quarterly basis to analyze partnership performance
• Conduct regular and ad-hoc analyses for existing and new partnerships in established and emerging markets
• Some management of existing partner accounts where needed
Experience: Required
• Minimum of 2 years experience in similar data-centric problem solving, research or consulting roles, ideally with experience in mobile apps, music or internet services.
• Extensive business modelling experience, demonstrating understanding of tying metrics and financials to narratives that inform business decisions.
• Demonstrate curiosity to dive into available data and enjoy searching for patterns that could indicate new insights.
• Experience of emerging markets a bonus.
• Candidate should have the capacity to develop a clear understanding of the business needs and translate them into relevant data queries to inform direction and strategy.
• The ability to communicate the results of your analyses in a clear and effective manner, including strong experience presenting and collaborating with cross-functional teams, with executive management, and with partners and other external parties in a professional and polished manner.
• BA/BS/MS degree, with background/experience in consulting a bonus
• Expertise in Excel and Microsoft Office applications, knowledge of SQL, Business Objects.
