Forbes Media is currently seeking a Benefits/HRIS Analyst to join our Human Resources team. This position will support our Director of Employee Benefits in administering and executing our benefit programs. You will also work closely with Forbes’ employees on a daily basis.
Benefit Administration
• Administer employee benefit programs including but not limited to medical, dental, life, disability, flex spending accounts, health savings accounts, EAP, commuter transit benefit, and 401k plan. Calculate and process monthly invoices for all benefit plans.
• Review and process new hire benefit enrollments within online benefits module of the payroll/HRIS system and submit election information to benefit vendor databases
• Process address changes, terminations, and mid-year benefit changes in payroll/benefit systems and vendor databases
• Assist with annual Open Enrollment including the HRIS system setup, employee communications, healthcare education seminars, and enrollment audits.
• Manage COBRA vendor website. Update COBRA elections in ADP for year-end ACA 1095C/1094C reporting.
• Maintain company intranet to ensure content and materials are up to date at all times.
Employee Engagement
• Act as HR point person for employee benefits inquiries.
• Manage new hire benefit on-boarding process and conduct new hire orientation weekly as needed.
• Administer and track all leaves of absences including consulting with employee, filing disability claims with the carrier, and tracking disability payments with payroll.
• Coordinate and execute annual benefits & wellness fair, flu shot and biometric screening events and ongoing employee education seminars throughout the year (401k, healthcare, EAP).
Analysis & Audit
• Resolve complex data integrity issues through oversight and regular auditing of benefit program data.
• Create reports within benefits and payroll system as needed.
• Assist with other projects and research as needed.
Compliance
• Manage ERISA, DOL, ACA compliance notice mailings/postings. Ensure plan documents and materials are up to date throughout the year.
• Assist with annual compliance filings such as EEOC filing, 5500 filings, nondiscrimination testing, workers comp audit, 401k internal audits, etc.
• Assist with PPACA compliance including but not limited to PCORI fee payments and annual 1095C/1094C filings.
Experience Desired
• Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of corporate benefits experience required with strong working knowledge of benefit programs including health and welfare plans, 401k, FMLA, COBRA, ERISA, health savings accounts, flex spending accounts, disability plans, medical and dental plans.
• Extremely detail oriented and well organized with the ability to multitask and set priorities
• Strong analytical skills paired with an understanding of, and commitment to, data integrity and confidentiality
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and with a team, while maintaining self-motivation.
• Knowledgeable about the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
• Advanced level MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word.
• Experienced working with robust HRIS and benefits software systems (i.e. ADP Workforce Now, Workday, PeopleSoft).
• Strong knowledge of benefit plan compliance requirements, state and federal laws such as FMLA, PPACA, COBRA, ERISA, etc.
• Exposure to payroll processing preferred.
• Ability to identify and solve problems using both internal and external resources.
