DESCRIPTION:
• Reads, analyzes and decides upon appropriate standard response to all written correspondence concerning CBS News Broadcasts.
• Maintains liason with all News units in obtaining follow-up information regarding hard and soft-news segments.
• Analyst prepares bulk mailings for statistical adjustment to ensure proper reflection of correspondence submitted by viewers.
• Maintains database record of all correspondence - postal and electronic - that is processed.
• Selects and, when appropriate, adapts standard departmental replies for use in responding to viewer letters.
Maintains weekly Excel file detailing numerical stats on all mail analyzed. Reports to Director, Audience Services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
MANDATORY SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Analytical proficiency and applied judgment for deciding upon appropriate response
• Typing and knowledge of computers, specifically WORD and EXCEL
• Knowledge of broadcasting and interest in current and public affairs. Organizational skills.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED SKILLS:
Journalism studies helpful
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
College degree required
