About Us
NBCUniversal is a leader in providing entertainment programming to the US and international marketplaces. The International Television Distribution division is responsible for the international distribution of NBCUniversal product to all forms of linear and digital media. This includes distribution of current and library theatrical movies, direct-to-video movies, documentaries and specials, plus all forms of television product – scripted TV series, non-scripted TV series, mini-series, animation and TV movies.
Responsibilities
Position Summary
The Manager will be responsible for the daily accounting operations pertaining to domestic new media. The ability to Ad Hoc reporting is essential.
Essential Job Functions
Understand and analyze the legal contracts and terms as well as maintain the contracts.
Responsible for work performed by Staff including:
1. Record payments from the customers; create workflows for complex royalty statements and minimum guarantee allocations; research and resolve discrepancies related to payment, statement, product, and etc.; maintain contracts; upload workflows; generate invoices; and apply payments to invoices.
2. Record unapplied payments in the subsystem weekly.
3. Create invoices related to certain products in the royalty statements and apply payments to invoices.
4. Prepare and file daily bank receipts and other supporting documents.
5. Prepare trackers and lead schedules to record customer royalties, payments, and minimum guarantees, and deferred revenue balances.
Prepare journal entries and supporting documents and upload journal entries in SAP (General Ledger).
Prepare general ledger account reconciliations in the account reconciliation system in accordance with company policy
Assist in SOX and participation audit inquiries and provide supports as needed.
Assist in testing subsystems’ bug fixes and enhancements and suggest possible enhancements and improvements to systems and processes
Special projects as requested.
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related area.
Minimum of three years in public or private accounting including supervisory and review responsibilities.
CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred.

Desired Characteristics
Accounting background in the entertainment industry is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of Production and Distribution as it relates to the television/entertainment industry a plus.
Detail Oriented.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proactive approach to problem solving.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team is essential for this fast-paced environment.
Willingness to work overtime to meet departmental deadline.
Knowledge of SAP a plus. Knowledge of computerized accounting systems (sub ledger systems) a plus.
Strong computer skills, including MS Excel, are preferred. Willingness to learn new systems as necessary.
