Senior Coordinator, Global Mastering & Servicing (Maternity Cover)

OVERVIEW
Sony Pictures Entertainment has an exciting 12 month maternity cover opportunity to join the dynamic Global Mastering & Servicing (GMS) Client Operations team responsible for localisation, foreign language mastering and exception management across a variety of SPE groups in the EMEA region.
Based in Sony Pictures’ Soho offices, GMS Client Operations manages the creation of localised content and foreign language masters on behalf of Airlines, Home Entertainment, Television, Network Operations, Internet and Theatrical uplift markets. In addition to being at the forefront of technical support across SPE’s lines of business, Client Operations plays a pivotal role in providing regional support to SPE sales groups for deal development strategy, contractual amendments, statistical reporting and analysis as well as material research and retrieval.
The position of Senior Coordinator is to organise foreign language localisation (dubbing, voice over and subtitling) and master creation on behalf of Airlines, Home Entertainment, Internet, Network Operations, Television and Theatrical uplift markets while adhering to established global procedures, technical specifications and production workflows.
It is also responsible for managing the creation (primarily localisation and mastering), delivery (including ‘Hot From the US’), retrieval and associated administration for client deliverables in allocated EMEA territories, including but not limited to Free, Pay, VOD and EST, while adhering to established global procedures, technical specifications, production workflows and SPE client contractual terms.
The successful applicant will support regional management in continual development of policies, procedures and performance standards to maintain timely delivery of highest quality localised elements at lowest cost. In addition, they will also anticipate changes in workflows for implementation of new technologies and procedural efficiencies.
Managing client requests, regional vendors and providing status updates for regional territories as requested by management will also be expected as well as participation in TQM metric reviews, RFP projects and manufacturing cost analysis for ad hoc projects.
BREAKDOWN OF CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
LOCALISATION – 50%
• Manage dubbing, voice over and subtitling projects with regional dubbing vendors.
• Liaise with LOBs and external clients regarding deadlines, voice casting and rejections.
• Issue Purchase Orders for dubbing /subtitling projects with regional dubbing vendors.
• Monitor dubbing, voice over and subtitling requests and manufacturing in designated LOB tracking systems.
• Assume responsibility for adherence to legal restrictions, delivery of source elements, and delivery of final assets.
MASTERING and RETRIEVAL – 20%
• Oversee Foreign Language Master creation, FLM ingest in SPE digital fulfilment systems and local lab rejection management on projects as assigned.
• Participate in retrieval and quality control processes / mastering of acquisition titles.
• Process the return of created masters, dubbed tracks and subtitled files.
• Perform duties in the most cost-effective and efficient manner possible, including but not limited to identifying and implementing cost saving and streamlining opportunities wherever possible.
LOB SUPPORT and CONSULTATION – 10%
• Support SPE sales groups in new deal development strategies, client launches, contract amendments – with particular emphasis on supporting SPE digital fulfilment strategy.
• Advise peers on strategies to leverage use of SPE internal teams.
• Participate in LOB tracking meetings which would include such issues as; late SO volume, title avail information, DBB volume, upcoming deals and volume forecasting.
• Conduct library research/sales histories for existing materials availability in preparation for GMS product fulfilment.
• Advise SPE sales of materials availability for requested titles. Supply costs to retrieve elements or create new materials as required. Retrieve elements as required, tracking on designated database.
EXCEPTION MANAGEMENT – 10%
. • Provide local support to home office for on time delivery and rejection management.
• Participate in review and analysis of monthly performance metric reports (volume trends, on time delivery vs. missed deadlines, reasons for late delivery, rejection rates, specific rejection issues etc.) for strategic planning.
GMS LOCAL SUPPORT – 10%
• Represent servicing team to other SPE groups who also support SPE sales efforts (IPP, Asset Management, Post Production Services, Global Logistics, etc.) to streamline policies and procedures to shorten SLA’s, ensure compliance with client requirements and reduce costs.
• Communicate with GMS internal manufacturing departments, external vendors (post facilities and localisation studios) to ensure delivery of materials, assist in solving material issues and provide guidance on client delivery requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Suitable candidates will have a tertiary qualification and typically 3 to 5 years previous experience in a similar role, specifically with:
Knowledge of:
• Dubbing and subtitling for Theatrical, Home Entertainment, Television and VOD platforms
• Film, audio & video post-production
• Video and audio formats
• Digital file transfer methods
• Broadcast processes
Skill in:
• Written and verbal communications
• Administrative organisation
• Microsoft Office suite
• A second language (preferable)
Ability to:
• Successfully manage deadlines
• Maintain positive relationships with internal/external clients and vendors across different cultures and nationalities
• Demonstrate adaptability and initiative
• Make decisions with limited supervisor input
• Organise and process data from variety of sources and communicate information in a clear, professional manner
