The Core Ticketing Analyst is responsible for the maintenance and uptime of Ticketmaster’s inventory management systems. You will be expected to learn our in house ticketing application as well as bring key skill sets that will facilitate the creation of new tools for the department. You will have background in Linux, Perl, BASH scripting, SQL and HTML with an excellent work ethic and a professional approach to your work. This role will have exposure to a number of critical systems and groups within our organization and you will be part of a global team that is responsible for supporting Ticketmaster’s ticketing application that powers the core of our business.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure uptime of Ticketmaster’s ticketing system.
• You will be required to learn Ticketmaster’s ticketing application to an advanced level, full training will be provided.
• Perform all work requests that flow into the department from our internal clients via our ticket tracking system.
• Respond to and resolve calls and e-mails, which have been escalated from the Technical Operation Centre (TOC) in a timely manner.
• Ensuring Timely completion and regular feedback on all allocated projects.
• Actively contribute to the expansion of the departmental knowledgebase by drafting entries with linkage to resolved tickets when gaps exist in our knowledgebase.
• As part of a global team you will be responsible for the implementation and operation of Ticketmaster’s ticketing application. This includes ticketing host upgrades, configuration management, monitoring, escalation and incident management as well as day to day business operations and nightly maintenance.
• You will be a part of the global team providing 2nd/3rd line Host support 24Hrs a day. You will be expected to adhere to and enforce all policies and procedures governing all operational aspects of our business.
• You will ensure appropriate escalation and notifications are completed immediately during interruptions or outages and expected to follow up any outages with a Bug report to provide the development team with log files and other suitable data to drive problem resolution.
• Lead discussions in the conception of any new tools.
• Develop under the direction of Core Ticketing Leadership all scoped tools ensuring you adhere to the development cycle they advocate.
• Proven experience in working in an application support role.
• Good experience with any flavour of Linux operating systems as well as a good understanding of both databases and clustered environments.
• Fluent Programming skills that should ideally include Perl.
• Scripting skills BASH preferred.
• A good understanding of what a software development lifecycle is.
• Good understanding of SQL including querying abilities.
• Good understanding of Networking.
• Experience of working on managed projects
• Basic HTML skills.
The occupant of this position will be required to work on a rotating roster (including weekends) between the hours of 8 am and 10 pm.
