Job Duties: Operate company's internal data communications systems. Plan, design and implement local and wide-area network solutions between multiple platforms and protocols (including IP and VOIP). Support and troubleshoot network issues and coordinate with vendors for installation of such items as routers and switches. Work on project implementation. Provide training and assist with proposal writing. Conduct project planning, cost analysis and vendor comparisons. Design, implement and support Network solutions for Enterprise Information Services (EIS) global engineering team. Work closely with Business/Application Development and Engineering groups during the project analysis and design phases and with the IT Operations team during the implementation and post go-live support. Participate in developing and defining processes, ensuring solutions are consistent with the integrated enterprise architectural model goals, encompassing applications, infrastructure technology and data. Provide level 3 support services when needed. Monitor and tune Network infrastructure. Work with Network and Server Vendors. Design and configure Network and Server hardware. Provide network support to UNIX and Windows servers. Manage capacity by monitoring and reporting on Network usage, trends and capacity. Evaluate vendor proposals for purchases of hardware, software, and technical services to assure adherence to technical specifications. Establish Operating Level Agreements. Provide Network documentation to include infrastructure architecture, configuration and run books. Manage infrastructure involving products from Cisco, Arista, Juniper, F5, Citrix, VMWare NSX. Manage network routing and switching protocols like OSPF, BGP, VXLAN, MPLS, STP, RSTP, MST, multicast and provide support to virtualized platform such as VMware, ESX, vMotion, and NSX. Work closely with Information Security team and Amazon Web Services team to provide infrastructure support as business needed. May telecommute.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a network/systems engineering-related occupation.
Special Requirements: Education or experience must include:
1) Network Appliance hardware and software;
2) Network Routing (EIGRP/OSPF/ BGP);
3) Network Switching and Firewall (STP/RSTP/ MST);
4) Infrastructure virtualization using VMWare;
5) Administering Cisco, Juniper, and Alcatel Network switches;
6) Implementing and supporting Information Lifecycle Management strategy;
7) Project management and system development life cycle knowledge;
8) Load balancing for multiple servers using load balancer such as F5, Net Scaler;
9) Designing and documenting deliverable plans for Enterprise implementations;
10) Supporting a large client base either internal (IT infrastructure support and services) or external customer support (product support and services);
11) Working across large functional teams to translate business requirements into technology requirements; and
12) Process engineering and Service Level Management tools implementation.
