As Thought Leadership Marketing Manager for Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC), you will be chiefly responsible for developing and delivering a compelling story to decision makers and influencers across the AEC ecosystem. You will engage with thought leaders, technology visionaries and industry strategists internally and externally to illustrate and amplify Autodesk’s vision – The Future of Making Things – with inspiring content, supported by research and real-world practice.
Your goal will be to influence consistent and effective adoption of messaging, content, and programs that disseminate Autodesk’s thought leadership perspective globally, across all of the industries we serve. This will require building collaborative relationships with industry strategy and product development stakeholders in order to create provocative and credible stories, supported by demonstrable product technology and lighthouse customer case studies.
You will be responsible for representing our thought leadership point of view across paid, owned, earned, and social media, as well as events. This includes providing strategic leadership for the AEC sites on autodesk.com, developing and socializing messaging frameworks, reviewing and influencing editorial content, and acting as creative director in support of “tier one” events. This role reports to the Senior Manager for AEC Horizontal and Construction Industry Marketing and will support marketing objectives spanning Building Design, Infrastructure, and Construction business lines.
In this role, you will develop a thorough understanding of industry trends, our strategic vision, and our customers, as well as our product portfolio; and you will also become a skilled navigator of the internal sales and marketing organization in order to:
• build and distribute provocative thought leadership messaging frameworks and distribution to support our Future of Making Things vision and our Building Information Modeling (BIM) value propositions
• ensure messaging, content, and web and event presence reflect the vision and effectively connect to sales enablement, marketing campaigns, events and P.R. initiatives
Outstanding interpersonal skills and a strong affinity for building cooperative relationships and garnering influence with other teams will be critical success factors for this role. You will be working in collaboration with a diverse array of teams, such as Product Development, Industry Strategy and Marketing, Education, and Government Affairs. You will also collaborate with digital marketing teams and work closely with P.R., field marketing, and sales enablement.
The candidate for this role must demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to build consensus across disciplines and influence others. Experience with marketing/brand strategies, program management, combined with solid writing ability, creativity, attention to detail, and ability to juggle multiple priorities will be critical to your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain, measure, and evolve our Connected BIM / Future of Making Things story, including messaging documents, sales presentations, web content, and other customer facing assets.
• Own the AEC presence on .com, providing strategic guidance and resources to align cross-industry objectives including expanding our audience, earning the right to be heard, driving sales opportunities and delivering on our trusted BIM advisor status.
• Provide creative and strategic direction for Autodesk University and One Team Conference events
Requirements:

• Excellent writing, editing, and content strategy skills.
• 5+ years of experience creating, managing and driving programs in software-related high-tech products
• BA/BS degree, preferably in Communications/Marketing. MBA/MA preferred.
• Solid understanding of the high tech industry, related experience. Knowledge of the fields of IOT, Cloud or SAAS. Related experience in fields of construction, architecture, or civil engineering will be a huge plus.
• Successful track record leading creative event strategies that drive results
• Established skills in PowerPoint are a must. Experience in Adobe Creative Suite products (Photoshop, Illustrator) and video editing would be a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in global virtual teams, and dispersed teams
• Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization and drive decisions to closure.
