Responsibilities
Create and maintain ratings estimates for use by Sales Planning, Finance and Management.
Point person for Data Science team on the development of forecasting tools and other systems to help more efficiently create reports.
Liaison with NBCU Research counterparts regarding synergy and strategies for network ratings and long form forecasts.
Work with VP and SVP Research on projects related to non-linear distribution platforms, emerging media technologies, viewing behavior and cross-platform consumption.
Pinpoint competitive business models that are succeeding and can inform the business– or not succeeding, and what can we learn from that.
Help understand changing viewing patterns and help program planning and finance optimize strategy for maximum benefit.
Liaison with network’s and corporate Finance/Business Development teams to use insight to inform business models.
Pressure test new audience measurement data sets and products (such as Nielsen’s DCR/TCR), including conceiving and executing pilot projects and developing clear pathways to making effective new offerings a scalable part of team’s day-to-day workflow.
Support finance, program planning, scheduling, marketing and programming initiatives with ad hoc data requests and strategic projects.
Reports to Vice President of Research.
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 7 years of media research experience, preferably programming research or ad sales research at a cable or broadcast network.
Thorough knowledge of Nielsen methodology and software systems including Nielsen Npower, knowledge of Star Media/StarEstimator and other TV ratings systems is a plus.
Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint is critical.
