Job Introduction
We are recruiting for a Research Executive for News and Current Affairs, reporting into the Research Manager (Audiences News& Current Affairs). The post holder will be required to work across all core disciplines in line with meeting the News Group objectives, but will focus on understanding BBC News and Current Affairs audiences on TV, radio and online and the wider news market.
This post is in M&A News Audiences, a team of 10 which covers the core disciplines of the News Group - News, Current Affairs, Politics and English Regions.
Role Responsibility
The post holder will have responsibility for managing regular reporting and smaller projects with particular focus on news story tracking. You will provide timely and relevant analysis of key audience trends through standard reports and ad hoc analysis to meet the needs of stakeholders and M&A. Assisting with qualitative and quantitative research projects to develop questionnaires and discussion guides you will develop ways of interrogating and reporting data supporting the whole research process within the team.
The Ideal Candidate
You will have a strong background in audience research coupled with a good understanding of BARB and Rajar data analysis and qualitative and quantitative research methods. You will be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders of varying seniority both in writing and in person and will have strong analytical and numerical skills to produce actionable insight. An interest in news and current affairs would be an advantage.
