OVERVIEW OF ROLE (Scope) –
The Director, Digital Project Management is tasked with the strategic ownership and accountability for various digital projects across the Digital Product Development group including, but not limited to: web, mobile web, apps and connected devices. This individual will oversee multiple project tracks and medium to large-scale digital projects across all networks. The Director, Digital Project Management ensures on-time and on-schedule delivery within budgeted scope, working closely with the internal Product, Development, and Design groups.
This individual will play a key role in the continuous improvement and management of all digital projects. The ideal candidate is a strong leader capable of challenging and partnering with organizational senior leadership. Proven experience with digital project management, as well as the ability to successfully launch new products and product features across various web environments (desktop, mobile, OTT), are essential to this position.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Create full-scale master project schedules and communication plans consisting of multiple projects or components.
2. Quantify factors related to project deliverables including resources, program and project oversight, objective risk and related contingency.
3. Facilitate scope definition, cross-functional estimates and high-level planning workshops with development team, networks digital teams, and vendors as needed.
4. Prepare and present high-level plan with estimates for executives and cross-functional leaders based on estimate outcomes.
5. Ensure proactive scheduling of key deliverables, milestones and deliverable tasks and develop project plans and schedules with cross-functional project leads.
6. Ensure necessary steps, stories and dependencies to deliver projects and their components are established.
7. Confidently lead and drive cross-functional projects through full delivery life-cycle resulting in projects delivered on-time and on-budget.
8. Communicate regular status updates to project executive leadership team on timelines, resource allocation and budget and escalate key issues and risks to ensure timely resolution and mitigation.
9. Prevent scope creep and facilitate change requests to ensure impacts to schedule or budget are approved and communicated.
10. Lead project closure including retroactive/lessons learned, documentation, transition and hand-off to digital teams and finance as needed.
11. Provide leadership for a team of project managers (2 to 5 team members)
QUALIFICATIONS(Required & Preferred)
• Strong knowledge of project management within a VOD an/or OTT service, ideally related to marketing and/or video operations. Knowledge of content management and content distribution a plus.
• 5 + years of experience in project management
• Experience in full lifecycle deliveries from business development to final software acceptance.
• Experience delivering new product features and/or solutions in an Agile environment.
• Must be able to work effectively with business and technical resources at all levels, including senior management.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Proven ability to work on tight deadlines and deliver quality results.
• Proactive problem solver, who can work both collaboratively and independently.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Entertainment industry experience is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
