DESCRIPTION:
The Production Assistant supports all areas of CBS News Marketing in scheduling, animation, music, graphic, and design projects.
Responsibilities:
• Support News Marketing staff with the coordination, creation, scheduling and distribution of all news marketing projects
• Assist with general administrative duties including schedules, screening tapes, finding still images etc
• Screen, log, transcribe and clip footage for projects; organizes element reels
• Assist in studio and location productions
• Log and archive video and associated data for future use
• Develop knowledge of various video formats and the ability to work in an edit environment
• Maintain updated production manuals, element reels, and department asset library; assist in preparation for events, including shipping materials
• Research and disseminate ideas for project-related news topics and elements
• Accountable for strict adherence to established department procedures
QUALIFICATIONS:
To qualify, you must have:
• Excellent communication and organization skills
• Ability to react quickly and positively under a wide variety of situations
• Leadership experience in a professional role, organization or activity
• Basic computer knowledge including MS Office
• Experience in television, film, or post production, or involvement with collegiate TV station
• Familiarity with processes and procedures of a television production department
• Familiarity with server-based media and/or non-linear editing equipment
• Familiarity with the news media landscape
