The Information Technology team develops and maintains Bell’s internal systems and applications while also developing integrated technology solutions for customers across all lines of business.
The team manages Bell’s IT Infrastructure and the service availability of over 700 applications, including mission critical billing and service systems. The IT delivery teams drive the IT Work Program with over 60% of IT capital invested in initiatives that support business unit priorities and Bell’s strategic imperatives.
Reporting to the Director, IT Program Management Business Markets, the successful candidate is responsible for planning of the New Product Introduction program, in partnership with our Bell Business Market sponsor teams, Finance, IT Architecture and Delivery teams.
The candidate must have demonstrated ability to impact and influence business decisions and successfully manage cross functional teams. This individual must also have strong engagement management skills, solid business acumen, deep technical insights with the ability to speak in both business and technical terms.
Responsibilities:
• This role includes but is not limited to the following activities:
• Partner with business primes to define scope of and facilitate cost and timing assessments of IT solutions, ensuring alignment with architectural roadmaps.
• Lead the development, prioritization and sequencing of short and long term strategic plans.
• Manage the New Product Introduction program and provide leadership to cross-functional project teams with a focus on achieving goals, minimizing risk and delivering quality.
• Support and guide all parties involved within a program to embrace effective governance throughout the life cycle of projects.
• Manage program financials, annual, quarterly and monthly YEE.
• Develop and maintain key program deliverables, program plans, metrics and status reports, including executive-level communications.
• Promote and maintain effective communications with Bell internal business partners to ensure clear understanding of all elements of business strategies or complex IT solutions.
Level of Experience and Education Required:
• A post secondary degree in computer science with a business focus, and/or a business degree with a focus on computer science (or equivalent).
• Proven track record with 5+ years of experience managing and delivering mid to large size projects at a program level in a complex business and IT environment.
• Knowledge of Bell IT Systems, Bell Business Market applications is preferred.
• Management level knowledge of enterprise-level applications PEATS, PORT, SAP, Ariba, etc.
Essential skills / Competencies:
• Knowledge of IT funding and governance processes.
• Program management skills including project planning and management, interdependency management, risk assessment and mitigation.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines on a consistent basis.
• Be highly self-motivated with proactive approach to problem solving, multi-task oriented team member with ability to self-manage tasks to completion within structured timelines.
• Be able to thrive in a high pressure environment with changing priorities, with customer satisfaction as a top priority.
• Strong communication both written and verbal and presentation abilities.
• Strong tolerance to ambiguity.
• High level of computer proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to listen, understand, and respond both appropriately and effectively to all levels of management representing both technical and business perspectives.
• Team player; ability to facilitate, negotiate and work within a multi-domain team environment.
Preferred skills / Competencies:
• Understanding of Bell’s Financial Governance process.
• Understanding of the IS/IT systems development environment.
• Understanding of project delivery lifecycle.
• ITIL certification.
• Bilingualism is an asset (English, French).
Working Conditions:
• Ability to travel occasionally within Montreal, Toronto corridors.
• Ability to work extended hours to meet program deliverables when necessary.
