We have an opening for an experienced, innovative, strategic Director, Account Management in our Boston, MA office. Does this sound like you?
Reporting to the VP of Customer Success, the Director, Account Management will be a key member of the team responsible for successful customer implementation. The team’s broad goal is to help train customers (our customers are higher education institutions, corporations, and publishers) in the use of a new set of tools, and manage all aspects of a successful implementation. The Director, Account Management will ultimately be responsible for managing a portion of day-to-day operations of the Customer Success team. The individual will initially manage individual accounts and, and then will progress to manage new account managers.
Critical Functions:
• Manage a team of Account Managers, and ensuring that each direct report is properly managing his or her client load.
• Developing, improving and revising the necessary systems to support a well-functioning team to meet the needs of our customers and internal stakeholders.
• Will be trained as an Account Manager and will be expected to complete all of the necessary Account Manager duties. Although, this will lessen as the individual gains direct reports, but will always be involved in direct Account Management.
• Be a key point of contact for partner organizations, and will work to build strong relationships with senior staff, as he/she supports Account Managers.
• Documenting systems / procedure and building customer-facing documents (such as how-to guides).
• Working to train and on-board new members of the Learning Science Platform team, particularly new Account Managers.
• In collaboration with VP, Customer Success, identifying opportunities for deepening / strengthening existing client relationships.
A successful candidate will have:
• Management experience, including managing individuals and resources across multiple projects in a complex environment.
• Strong communication/interpersonal skills, and the ability to influence customers and provide guidance without being overbearing.
• Entrepreneurial attitude, and willingness to think creatively, problem solve roll up your sleeves, and complete whatever needs to get done.
• Experience working with software implementations, preferably with cloud hosted SAAS services.
• Flexibility to deal with different types of organizations/changing role definition as the team grows and matures.
• Experience in education (broadly defined) and an interest in better understanding how individuals learn.
