Responsibilities
This role is for an Associate Producer position on the MSNBC Early Today team responsible for assisting segment producers with various projects.
Job Duties:
Writing stories
Researching stories
Gathering elements
Viewing all video before writing
Explaining edit instructions in detail on script
Pitching story ideas (day-of, next day, futures)
Working directly with graphics department to create show graphics
Straight cut video and work with editors when needed
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college
Candidate must have at least 3 years of experience in live television including morning shows, cable shows, and broadcast TV
Must have at least 2 years’ experience writing
Must be proficient with Desktop editing

Must be “on call” 24 hours a day / 7 days a week
Ability to travel and work flexible hours (including nights and weekends) with short notice, ability to work under tight deadlines, ability to work under pressure, and during breaking news
