Functional Quality Assurance Software Development Engineer in Test, VIPER

As a Functional QA SDET on the VIPER team, you will use your critical thinking skills to solve difficult problems related to digital video delivery. The VIPER team is a new, small and fast-moving team of world-class experts who are innovating in end-to-end video delivery. Who does the Software Development Engineer in Test work with?
SDET engineers are positioned between the core development teams and Systems Integration in Test engineers. We work with software engineers, project managers, delivery owners, network engineers, and a whole host of technically adept people within Comcast. Our goal is to ensure the code developed by software engineers matches specifications and flush out any bugs discovered in a testing cycle. You will have the opportunity to impact VIPER products from concept to delivery.
What are some interesting problems you'll be working on?
In your role, you will ensure code meets requirements developed by Service Directors and use your sleuthing skills to uncover bugs. You will have the opportunity to put the system through its paces and develop a set of automated test cases. We work with the latest industry technologies and you will have an opportunity to grow your skillset in tools like Docker and Kubernetes.

Skills & Requirements
• Full Lifecycle of QA Engineering support for targeted technology stacks {JavaScript, iOS, and/or Android client technologies, UNIX server side tech} -- note that candidate only requires background in ONE of the stacks
• At least 4 years of experience in a mature software development organization
• At least 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance, with primary focus being test automation and API validation
• Significant experience in one of the following categories:
◦ Deployment Automation & Containerization (Puppet, Docker, Kubernetes)
◦ Configuration Management and Build Automation
◦ Set Top Box Automation (Cisco, Arris)
◦ Large-Scale Systems Integration & Automation
• Experience with a variety of scripting languages including Python and Javascript
• Experience writing core programming languages such as Java or Objective C
• Experience with web application development including dynamic HTML, CSS, and JS integration
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration Development Lifecycles and the specific Development and Testing challenges inherent to that approach
• Ability to navigate Unix operating systems
• Good communicator and able to clearly articulate complex issues and technologies
• Willing to take ownership of problems and see them through to resolution
• Comfortable working in a fast paced agile environment. Requirements change quickly and our team needs to constantly adapt to moving targets.
