Anschutz Entertainment Group, Inc. (“AEG”) is a subsidiary of The Anschutz Company and one of the leading sports and entertainment presenters in the world. AEG owns a collection of companies including multi-use facilities such as STAPLES Center and Home Depot Center in Southern California, several sports franchises including the Los Angeles Kings (NHL) and Los Angeles Galaxy (MLS) and AEG LIVE, one of the world's leading concert promotions and touring companies. AEG is also currently overseeing the development of L.A. LIVE, 4 million sq. ft. downtown L.A. sports, residential and entertainment district.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will oversee all aspects of Information Technology Services as it relates to Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum event and non-event operations. This department will work in sync with other departments to ensure that Nassau Coliseum operates optimally at all times and that all patrons, clients and promoter/production managers are consistently treated in a first class, professional manner producing successful events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Providing Information Technology expertise and manage the department staff and equipment
• Work closely with AEG IT in creating and implementing policies and procedures regarding Information Technology, with a specific focus on problem resolution, help desk support, event coverage, customer service (internal/external) and equipment purchases
• Planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing all activities and personnel engaged in maintaining a highly sophisticated, converged network and all the systems within this network.
• Conducting ongoing reviews of budgeting and staffing plans; recruiting, training, supervising, and evaluating personnel and service providers.
• Protect AEG and BSE interests in all IT related aspects.
• Schedule and supervise a part-time staff responsible for event coverage and support.
• Day-to-day management of the IT infrastructure at the Nassau Coliseum.
• Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with VP, managers, supervisors, employees, patrons, clients, city departments, service providers and corporate sponsors.
• Negotiating and enforcing third party service providers.
• Managing third party service providers by enforcing the agreed upon scope of services within the various signed service agreements (i.e. system support, equipment provider).
• Preparing and maintaining required reports/records/certifications for the city, code and/or corporate management.
• Preparing a projected Event Cost Estimate/Analysis for specific areas of responsibility.
• Continuously review the facility needs and recommend repairs, maintenance or special projects to the General Manager.
• Creating and implementing purchasing and inventory control systems as it relates to consumable.
• Projects as required by the General Manager, Arena Operations and AEG IT
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• Serving in managerial positions in a related facility environment; organizing and directing IT requirements for sporting and entertainment arena events.
• Working knowledge of telephone systems and the ability to support and troubleshoot system.
• Ability to implement, support and troubleshoot a full high density Wi-Fi solution throughout Nassau Coliseum with over 300 access points.
• Knowledge and previous experience working with an integrated, converged network that supports arena specific system like Building Management Systems, Security Systems, Sports Audio/Sound Systems, Guest Networks, Ticketing, Points of Sale and a complete IPTV solution (Stadium Vision).
• Developing and managing budgets (consumable items, equipment, labor, services).
• Program cost analysis for IT Services.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in any field plus 5 years progressively responsible, post baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in IT related field.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• Must have a flexible schedule, with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
• The ability to demonstrate dependability and reliability by being punctual, working assigned and varying shifts and completing responsibilities in a timely manner are required.
• Must have the ability to stand, sit, crouch, and bend throughout the course of daily activities.
• Ability to work in various climates based on the environment.
• Must have a legal right to work in the US.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Must have the ability to read, write, and understand English in a working environment.
• Must be willing to submit to a post-offer criminal background check, employment check, and a drug test
