Position Summary:
The Director will take the lead in identifying, designing, developing, and driving innovative digital value propositions to grow and maintain subscriptions in all markets for Eurosport Digital.
This role will work closely with the Product, content, Sales and Marketing, and local digital teams and other departments in region.
Responsibilities:
The role comprises four primary responsibilities:
1. The consumer champion: understanding, defining and communicating consumer trends, requirements and opportunities
2. Proposition development: Defining future propositions in coordination with strategy, BD, product and content teams
3. Performance evangelist: Reviewing performance of current propositions against plan, and working with key stakeholders to drive improved performance
Supplemented by several supporting responsibilities:
1. Support the strategy & planning team with the development of the long-term strategy, including the creation of a market and sports roadmap
2. Present consumer & performance insight updates at monthly digital team meetings, and represent the digital sports consumer across Discovery
3. Assist sales & marketing teams with defining target audiences and driving campaign effectiveness
4. Support strategy & planning, business development and corporate development teams in the identification, planning and implementation of content and distribution partnerships
5. Manage external consultants, agencies and advisors where required
6. Work with the research teams to define and implement reporting requirements
Requirements:
• Degree educated, MBA graduate or equivalent preferred
• Experience in developing digital products, or consumer propositions
• Strategy and/ or Commercial experience, nous and understanding with knowledge of the business drivers and how they are influenced
• Ability to build relationships quickly with senior stakeholders
• Strong presentation skills
• Exceptional analytical skills required
• A conceptual mind-set
• International media experience
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• Proven track record of working in a matrix organisation
• Passion for TV, digital and an ambition to understand the opportunities provided by the new digital landscape
• A creative thinker with demonstrable strategic skills and a commercial sensibility
