Site Reliability Engineer

As a member of our Site Reliability Engineering team, you will have the opportunity to join the group responsible for running an industry leading SaaS and Hosted Learn application that is used by millions of students every day.
We are looking for candidates to drive, design, implement and scale our DevOps methodology driven technologies, approach, and tooling to support platforms. Qualified candidates will bring the latest software development, automation and deployment practices and apply them every day to improve things.
Responsibilities:
• Support an always-available hosted and cloud platform
• Join a scrum team of fellow engineers following DevOps philosophies
• Bring the latest tools and techniques to achieve optimal results and SLA’s
• Identify and drive opportunities to improve automation for deployment, management, and tooling
• Stay up to date on the latest Cloud development and deployment technologies
Requirements:
• Self-starter, collaborative team player
• Experience with Linux in a production environment
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving application and/or system-related issues
• 4+ years of experience in system administration or programming
• Experience with Amazon Web Services
• Experience with configuration management using Chef
• Demonstrable experience in scripting in python / ruby or SH
• Strong written and spoken English
Plus:
• Experience with large scale software development processes and multi-region deployments
• Experience with Docker or other containerization technology
• Java and/or Scala development experience
• Experience working with a global team
