EA is growing, and we’re looking for a talented Cinematic Artist to join the team in Cologne (Germany). There are a variety of creative roles across EA, and each comes with its own set of requirements, expectations, and responsibilities. What a Cinematic Artist does at EA:
As a Cinematic Artist you will work alongside a creative team of artists to ensure our marketing assets are delivered to their highest quality and compete on a world class level. You will have responsibility for shot layout, keyframe animation, realistic lighting and detailed rendering to achieve the final creative vision as set forward by your Art Director.
Key Criteria:
• A trained and skilled animator with a proven track-record of delivering multiple successful projects.
• Experience producing world class assets, focused on realistic facial and character animation.
• Solution oriented with the ability to dive technically deep while still maintaining focus on deadlines.
• Experience with Real Time workflows and the technical hurdles/limitations associated.
The next great EA Cinematic Artist also needs:
Extensive experience of a similar role within a dynamic commercial environment.
• Deep knowledge and experience of cinematic language and camera direction.
• Experience with PBR lighting techniques.
• A passion for storytelling and an understanding of real time pipelines.
• Excellent 3D skillsets in keyframe animation, physically based lighting, and node/layer based animation workflows.
Strong written & verbal Communication Skills
• Great attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• An open & honest proactive approach to communication
• Ability to communicate to people at all levels, both internally & externally
• Strong Listening Skills
• Strong ability to adjust work based on feedback and direction.
Extensive Problem Solving Skills
• Sets clear priorities to optimally complete animation tasks, allocating resources efficiently
• Able to work to designated deadlines & communicates progress when necessary
• A motivated self-starter with a desire to contribute & shape the business
Collaborative Outlook
• Takes a team rather than an individual approach to their work
• Stays committed to the team & business ethic; maintains a positive outlook in everything they do
Strong Program skills
• Vast and detailed experience within the Maya animation package.
• Good working knowledge of Adobe products.
• Knowledge of real time engine technology is considered a major plus.
• Mel or Python programming knowledge inside of Maya is a plus.
