Barnes & Noble is seeking a Manager, Digital Marketingto support the Digital Marketing Team. This role will be instrumental in managing and executing Omni-channel marketing strategies for major company-wide initiatives. The Manager is responsible for developing and implementing both category and customer segmented Digital Marketing plans to achieve strategic goals and objectives for the business units.
Responsibilities
• Leads cross-functional and/or cross-channel teams to develop integrated launch programs, marketing promotions, and digital strategy for all company initiatives including, but not limited to, annual store events, major initiatives and product launches.
• Develops and implements both category and customer segmented Digital Marketing plans to achieve strategic goals and objectives for the business units.
• Builds strong relationships within cross department structure to ensure marketing message consistency and adherence to brand guidelines.
• Leads strategic oversight of all digital campaigns; manages communication to all internal teams; stays ahead on project timelines, and deliverables to ensure a timely launch.
• Coordinates across business partners and cross functional teams (Email, CRM, Site Experience, Production, etc.) to align/execute marketing programs
• Communicates marketing initiatives to management.
• Leverages consumer and web analytics data to formulate strategic insights and deliver effective consumer led digital campaigns and brand experiences.
• Oversees the maintaining of marketing project timelines, briefs, asset delivery, and all business approvals.
• Manages the creative brief process for all marketing campaigns managed by the direct reports.
• Acts as a main liaison between marketing and production team.
• Coordinates post-marketing initiative recaps and on-going campaign optimization.
• Assists in other additional marketing projects as needed.
• Stays abreast and keeps the marketing team informed of competitive highlights and key trends.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree required
• 5+ years' experience in a consumer facing digital marketing role, preferably in a Retail/ecommerce environment
• Experience in creating processes for improving performance & efficiency of marketing activities
• Experience working with creative and production teams
• Ability to multi-task, solid attention to detail and experience working in a fast paced environment
• Proactive, Resourceful, and excellent note taker
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication (written and verbal) skills
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and experience working in a complex cross-functional environment
• Strong Computer Skills: Word, Power Point, Excel & Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
• MBA / previous consulting experience
• Experience Managing people preferred
• Strategic thinker combined with strong, detail-oriented execution skills
• Creativity, collaboration, logical approach to problem-solving
