ABOUT THE POSITION
Your role is to build a learning platform for Autodesk customers that is deeply connected to Autodesk’s core product and service ecosystem. You will oversee the development & operation of the platform, with a particular eye on helping it evolve, based on coordination with program teams and learning from data feedback loops.
This is a technical program management role that involves working in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment. You will connect the dots between multiple development teams, and also program teams throughout Autodesk who focus on customer learning & community.
The system we’re creating is meant to strike a powerful balance between centralized efficiency, consistency, and intelligence - and de-centralized empowerment of teams throughout the business to run their programs in very close ongoing touch with customers.
A first project will be building the digital platform for Autodesk University (AU).AU hosts learning & community events around the world, and we’re establishing a more powerful and pervasive year-round destination for the AU community to share knowledge, teach skills, network with peers, and engage in rich dialogue with Autodesk.
SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT - PROJECT MANAGEMENT:

• Oversee development & implementation according to project plans and priorities, ensuring high quality deliverables. (e.g. Product Owner in Agile methodology)
• Plan and manage successful completion of development by:

◦ Establishing and driving product release plans that satisfy requirements and priorities
◦ Assembling and managing teams to deliver projects, potentially including both internal and contract resources, and technology from vendors. (including managing budgets)
◦ Own technical roadmaps, and provide ongoing communication of the release plan
◦ Assessing the costs, risks and benefits of each project
• Maximize development team's ability to deliver quickly and respond to emerging requirements by applying appropriate development methodologies (e.g. Scrum principles and Agile). You will likely help lead a “scrum of scrums.”
◦ Negotiating and managing disparate development timelines from various teams to ensure overall efficiency.
• Adopt open-source development models to promote collaboration across Autodesk by:
◦ Removing cultural/process barriers to shared component usage
◦ Accurately factoring in required architecture/engineering effort to use/build shared components
◦ Working as a champion for engineers utilizing/building shared components
• Collaborate with other teams to accomplish cross-organizational project goals
PERFORMANCE & TEAM MANAGEMENT:
• Manage and monitor team’s performance to ensure successful project completion according to agreed upon goals.
• Educate team members on how their work aligns with organizational goals.
• Clarify goals and remove obstacles that impede progress.
• Build highly effective global teams by fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and encouraging effective communications with the team and other stakeholders .
• Work with key stakeholders to consider trade-offs, risks, and make project plan course corrections.
• Inspire and motivate team members to achieve maximum productivity and optimal creativity.
TECHNICAL LEADERSHIP:
• Maintain a competent level of technical expertise to work effectively with team members and the broader Autodesk technical community.
• Keep abreast of technology industry trends, solutions, standards and methodologies
• Discover and maintain awareness of relevant development efforts in other organizations within Autodesk. Calibrate project plans and execution where appropriate.
• Proactively engage with customers and Autodesk stakeholders to stay on top of project requirements.
• Identify potential new product solutions that the market will embrace.
• Determine the relevance and champion use of common components vs. building duplicate functionality.
