Position Summary:
The Digital Content Producer, Music creates multimedia and written content derived from SiriusXM's music programming, to be distributed to targeted audiences across SiriusXM's social media and customer email communications, as well as various SiriusXM marketing streams. This position is vital to the organization's focus on engagement content and content marketing, particularly for its robust music offerings, which includes rock and classic rock, country, current hits, and more. S/he also manages processes that work with music programmers to distribute content across relevant social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, SnapChat), and must be an active evangelist for best social media practices, consulting and liaising with Programming and Marketing departments and implementing content strategy across multiple platforms. S/he must have an equal facility for video and the written word in order to craft digital content with the appropriate editorial voice and style for targeted audiences and different distribution points. This person must quickly develop tight relationships with the Talent, Promotions, Programming, and PR Departments to effectively produce and promote content.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Work with music programming stakeholders to produce engagement content, both video and written.
• Manage distribution of new and edit existing content for siriusxm.com, WordPress blog, and social media and marketing streams.
• Update key pages on siriusxm.com through company CMS.
• Advise Music Programming on social media best practices, collaborate on digital content strategies.
• Manage relevant analytics reports and content tracking.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Supervise interns' work in content management and social media.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years experience with social media, web producing and content creation preferably in a media and/or entertainment company.
• Content marketing experience a plus.
• Combination of education and experience preferred.
Requirements and General Skills:
• Knowledge of and interest in music of different genres and eras, particularly Country and Classic Pop and Rock.
• Experience crafting and editing copy and headlines for editorial content.
• Photo and video editing in Adobe PhotoShop and Premiere.
• Social video creation and editing -- Snapchat, Instagram Stories, GIFs.
• Line and top editing editorial content.
• SEO best practices.
• Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Technical Skills:
• Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Image editing in Adobe Photoshop.
• Video editing in Adobe Premiere.
• ENG (electronic news gathering) videography and working knowledge of DSLRs.
• Experience in CMS publishing a plus.
• Basic HTML.
