Job TitleNational Sales Director
We are seeking a leader in media sales to serve as a National Sales Director. This role is responsible for bringing an award-winning, brand-building CRM media platform to new prospects and for growing existing accounts. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to contributing to the sales strategy, collaborating on proposals and presentation development for a national sales territory. This exciting position is located in our New York City or Chicago office.
The ideal National Sales Director candidate will be a self-starter and a strong consultative seller, with extensive print sales expertise, and a proven ability to develop and sell integrated media and marketing campaigns. Preferred experience would include deep contacts on the client side, in CPG and non-luxury categories and the agency landscape. The ability to produce quick, effective results, interpersonal communication and negotiation techniques are essential to this role. Identifying client and media decision makers and tapping these budgets is a key part of success.
Essential Job Functions
60% - Managing account list, developing new business prospects, and leading and executing a strategy that grows revenue.
20% - Working with Account Supervisor to ensure successful campaign execution and client satisfaction
10% - Partner management and work with corporate sales and other Meredith departments
10% - Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) to support Meredith Digital’s sales representation for a digital award winning-CRM digital media platform
Minimum Qualifications:
All must be met to be considered.
Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and/or experience.
Experience:
Minimum 6 years industry or print/digital sales experience with demonstrated track record of success.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Strong client-side and agency contacts within the CPG and non-luxury categories.
• Expert print advertising seller.
• Conversant digital including, video, mobile, social and programmatic.
• Strong ability in proactive solutions-selling using consumer insights and marketing research
• Ability to work collaboratively within the larger Meredith organization
• Ability to reach key decision-makers and close deals
• Competitive salary and bonus structure
40-60% travel required
