SUMMARY
The Sr. Finance/Strategy Analyst is responsible for conducting Revenue, Operational, and Strategic risk analysis, Business Development analysis, investments analysis, and reporting on financial and operational metrics for GED Testing Service. The Sr. Finance/Strategy Analyst is also responsible for the preparation of the quarterly forecast, annual plan and strategic plan, and ongoing involvement in complex strategy and operational analysis.
Working closely with customers (corporate and the division) and other Finance staff, the Sr. Finance/Strategy Analyst gathers information to forecast various lines of revenue and develops an operational plan to achieve the forecast. In the development of the annual Strategic and Operating plans, the Sr. Finance/Strategy Analyst will work extensively with all departments within GEDTS as well as its parent Pearson VUE. In addition to operational and financial forecasting activities, the Sr. Finance/Strategy Analyst will look for process efficiencies across departments, analyze new business opportunities and risks as they arise, and manage projects as required.
Financial analysis
• Prepare weekly and monthly Revenue/test module forecast
• Gather and consolidate budget information
• Develop annual plan for test volumes and related Revenue
• Prepare quarterly forecast of test volume and related Revenue
• Conduct investments analysis
Operational analysis
• Prepare weekly operational forecast for exam deliveries
• Develop operational plans for GEDTS and related operational teams
• Develop tools for Operations and Channel to increase efficiency
Strategy analysis
• Assist in the development of the company’s strategic plan
• Conduct analysis on new business opportunities
• Forecast sales of ancillary products
• Work cross-functionally to advance the business
• Project Manage RFP and contract responses
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA Degree, CPA, CMA preferred
• 4 years’ experience in Finance or Accounting
• Previous experience in financial or operational forecasting preferred
• Experience working with Oracle, Excel, MS Access, and Internet Application Solutions preferred
