The Challenge Ahead:
The Global Publishing Organization (GPO) Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team supports EA’s business in North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America across all product lines and channels. Key business partners to the group include Demand Planning, Sales, Marketing and Operations teams. While the group is tasked with managing the traditional FP&A activities, the key objective is to maximize overall profitability of the business and provide decision making support to the business.
You will be supporting the Digital Commercial team and reporting to the Senior Finance Manager also based in Geneva, Switzerland. The primary responsibility of this position will be forecasting, analysis and reporting for the console digital business including revenue, gross margin and expenses (opex) with emphasis on Business Partnership, Performance Tracking, Variance Analysis and Decision Support.
What a Senior Finance Analyst does at EA:
• Business Partnership – Partner with the International Publishing Organisation (IPO) Digital Commercial teams to gain business context and insight used for both evaluating ROI of promotions and assessing partner and/or franchise profitability.
• Forecasting and Planning – Working with the commercial and studio teams to derive financial forecasts and annual plans for full game digital downloads and digital extra content. Includes liaising with Demand Planning functions and Studio finance teams for operational and financial revenue forecasts (units, price, attach-rates, etc.), understanding and planning of components of margin for all product editions.
• Reporting - Ensure accurate and timely completion of reporting deliverables to local Business Partners. Work directly with business partners to gather, understand and report key business metrics. Assume a role of data-stewardship to ensure integrity and reconciliation of monthly actual console data.
• Tracking Performance – Keep a regular pulse on the business (daily, weekly, monthly) as well as understand and communicate risks and opportunities and manage the monthly “best estimate” revenue tracking process
• Analysis – Ongoing variance analysis of results vs. plan and forecasts for internal management and central FP&A teams. Other ad-hoc analysis as required to support management decision making.
The next great EA Senior Finance Analyst also needs:
• Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of experience within an accounting and FP&A
• Qualified or Part Qualified CIMA / ACCA / equivalent preferable
• Fluency in English
• Skilled user of financial database software applications
• Demonstrated high performance in prior roles
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Essbase & PowerPoint skills preferable. Tableau experience and basic programming knowledge a plus (VBA / Python).
• Strong written and oral communication skills that enables clear and concise communication to all levels of management
• Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy on work output
• Energetic and inquisitive quick learner
• Ability to work remotely and be confident in challenging the business
• Appreciation for data integrity, process definition and organisational alignment
• Highly motivated, self-starter; comfortable interacting with executives
• Able to handle multiple and sometimes competing priorities
