Required Skills:
What you’ll be doing:
The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for full management reporting, financial accounting and analysis for IMAX Corporation consolidated. The role will comprise of complex and challenging technical issues within U.S. GAAP environment. The Company has over 20 entities with international operations and joint ventures.
Internal Reporting and Analysis duties:
◦ Preparation/Review of monthly and quarterly consolidated financial statements.
◦ Evaluate financial data, identifying trends and anomalies.
◦ Enhance monthly/quarterly reporting structure and processes.
◦ Prepare schedules supporting notes to the Financial Statements for the 10Q and 10K filings
◦ Assist Senior Manager, Financial Reporting with preparation of SEC filings, issuance of the monthly reporting, quarterly reporting and annual reporting.
◦ Prepare annual pension plan statements.
◦ Participate in various special projects and ad hoc tasks that may arise.
◦ Complete/Review quarterly and annual surveys from Statistics Canada and U.S. Department of Commerce.
◦ Assist Senior Manager, Financial Reporting in the supervision and review of work performed by the Senior Financial Analyst.
What we’re looking for:
• CA designation.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
• Solid analytical and technical skills with a minimum of 3 years of financial/corporate accounting experience including experience auditing public companies.
• Team player, able to interact professionally with members of the organization outside of the Finance group.
• Strong computer skills and must be fully proficient in Excel.
• Knowledge of SAP would be an asset.
• Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with the senior management team.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Motivated, ability to multi-task.
• Ability to follow up and resolve issues in a timely and accurate manner.
• Must be available to work overtime as required.
