Summary:
Reporting to the PMO Director, the incumbent will lead all project phases to assure projects deliver on their expected value. The project manager will also lead and significantly contribute to PMO evolution activities, including the development of methodology and processes to support our global team of project managers. The PMO (IT Project Management Office) partners with business units and game development teams around the world to provide expertise in portfolio management, project management, process improvement and business analysis.
Responsibilities:
The main and routine tasks of the project manager are to:
• Drive the development and evolution of PMO methodology, processes and tools.
• Ensure and/or define process and system quality improvement by implementing best practices and/or relevant techniques
• Meet with partners, determine, assess and understand their needs and ensure their understanding and involvement in future approaches
• Facilitate organizational change, perform business process analysis and process improvement activities, and drive requirements management Along with managers, determine the resources required by teams (availability, skills) and ensure knowledge transfer
• Take part in the implementation of appropriate methodologies for effective project management that meet quality standards, budgets and deadline
• Understand the workflow processes and the inter- and intra-departmental relations and collaborate with in-house partner services to orchestrate and facilitate the implementation of optimal solutions and/or improvement projects and workshops.
• Follow up on the progress of the work (team/project/production support), provide guidance on project initiatives and communicate statuses to project stakeholders on a regular basis, ensuring adequate communication between project collaborators
• Close projects (report, post-mortem, accounting);
• Carry out proactive follow ups with partners and on mandates with the customers;
• Know his/her client base, especially by keeping partner information up-to-date (follow up on production mandates, general satisfaction, timelines etc.);
• Ensure the quality of communications with partners (frequency, adaptation based on the context and product, etc.);
• Carry out all other related tasks.
Qualifications
Training:
University degree in a relevant field
Training/extensive knowledge/certification in project management or optimization and continuous process improvement approaches an asset
PMP certification preferred
Relevant experience:
• Five (5) to eight (8) years’ solid, hands-on experience in project management
• Experience working within a PMO contributing the methodology and process development.
• Proven ability to work with all members of a project team, including business leaders, technical leaders, developers, and system administrators
• Proficiency with time tracking and collaboration tools (e.g. Microsoft Project, JIRA/Greenhopper, SharePoint, Confluence.
