Crunchyroll is looking for a Web Developer who is motivated to combine the art of design with the art of programming. This position is for one of our sister channels, Creativebug - for a contract opportunity. Creativebug is a subscription based site featuring online video workshops in sewing, knitting, art & drawing and more.
Responsibilities will include translation of the UI/UX design wireframes of our video subscription service across web, mobile and TV platforms to actual code. You will work with the UI/UX designer, as well as fellow backend engineers and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works. A keen eye for responsive design would be very helpful for the successful candidate.
Major Responsibilities:
• Develop new user-facing features
• Build reusable code and libraries for future use
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
• Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
• Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
Requirements:
• High proficiency in PHP, Javascript, HTML5, CSS3
• Solid understanding of mobile first and responsive design
• Proficient understanding of JS frameworks, including jQuery and bootstrap
• Good understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
• Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as git
• Good understanding of SEO principles and knowing how and when to apply them
• Full Stack experience is a plus
• Knowledge of video streaming is a big plus
• Photoshop/Gimp skills is a plus
• Interest in crafts, videography, photography is a big plus
