Senior Analyst, Sales Planning & Operations (Maternity Cover), TV Distribution

Sony Pictures London based TV Distribution team is currently looking for a Senior Analyst on a 12 month maternity cover basis to support four key areas of their business: Deal Management & Administration, Forecasting & Planning, Sales Analysis, and Title Inventory management.
Working across all media with a focus on pan territory clients in the Region including – AXN, AMC, Netflix and HBO. This position will have a key focus on operational efficiency and developing best practice within the Region and across our EMEA Sales Planning team
Successful candidates will have a passion for content and a broad understanding of the distribution business necessary to support the sales process. They will be a highly motivated individual able to communicate important developments, by client in market and internal, to the relevant and appropriate audiences in a timely and consistent manner.
Key Responsibilities
The job’s most important functions and responsibilities include:
Deal Management & Administration
• Set up & maintain deals in Sales & Rights Management systems (RPM & ITSM)
• Analyse rights in the contract and accurately record in RPM.
• Manage contractual obligations and meet all deadlines as detailed in the contracts
• Uphold Sales Planning Procedures by seeking appropriate reviews and sign offs at all times, maintaining accurate and up to date records and storing key documentation in appropriate systems and folders.
• Track the workflow of contract, amendment, notification processes for every deal, client schedules, availability lists and ad hoc reports.
• Preparation and review of start & change orders (including fee allocations, checking accuracy of overage calculations and processing change orders into RPM & ITSM).
• Assist and track progress of deal execution
◦ Work closely with Sales and Legal during contract drafting as required
◦ Prepare deal memo/term sheet/short-form
◦ Provide information & documentation to Legal
◦ Track progress through to final signature/ execution
• Client Support:
◦ Develop a good working relationship with clients; attend external meetings as required. Engage with customer and provide sales support.
◦ Field questions from client regarding all aspects of the deal – e.g. billing discrepancies for royalty deals, servicing issues, US Network scheduling changes.
• Internal Relationships:
◦ Liaison with Finance to ensure timely payment of. Support Home Office with audits by preparing required back-up materials for each deal.
◦ Liaising frequently with GMS (Materials Fulfilment team) to ensure we are able to plan and provide assets on time for new and existing deals.
◦ Investigate questions for Finance/Legal/Marketing/GMS as required
• Create and maintain relationships with contacts in other key divisions including Home Entertainment, Theatrical, Home Office, Legal, Marketing, Finance, GMS, IT.
• Operational Efficiency and Best Practice. Work with Senior Manager in all areas of Deal Management and Administration to maximise efficiency and ensure best practice within the Region and across the Sales Planning group
Sales Analysis
• Support negotiations of new deals and renegotiations with analysis, working with direction from Senior Manager of Sales Planning, Sales and Head of Analysis
• Maximise revenue for active Volume Deals through proactive tracking of title performance and product windowing and slot utilisation.
• Runs Tracking – responsible for monthly runs tracking reports for CEE Region, working with external vendor on deal updates and providing monthly updates and insights to Sales Team
• Ad hoc projects and prepare information for TV Markets as requested by the Sales Team. Analyse title performance; profile SPT products and market competitors. Conduct analysis and discussions to help new sales strategies.
Title Inventory Management
• Analyse reports for available product and identify appropriate titles that meet client and sales criteria in order to maintain an accurate record of product to maximise the sales potential.
• Ensuring up-to-date, accurate Avails lists are maintained at all times.
• Window management - Maximise window opportunities for all product and ensure sales plans for the territories are maintained.
• Collaborate with SPHE to coordinate/approve the release of TV product with SPHE (based on local broadcast dates). Ensure the maintenance of list of transmission schedules for Series sold in the Territory, to allow for EST/Physical release in a timely manner.
Forecasting & Planning
• Take ownership for ensuring all deals and data in RPM /ITSM is accurate and up to date.
• Maintain annual forecast, process changes in a timely manner and keep Senior Manager Sales Planning and Sales Teams informed of updates regularly
• Responsible for co-ordinating and entering mid-range plan information for relevant territories & media
• Create and provide summaries and updates, utilising system functionalities, to Sales & Finance within prescribed deadlines
• Attend and contribute to regular forecast review meetings with Territory Sales, Planning and Finance
Qualifications and Experience
• Educated to minimum undergraduate degree level
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar environment (media)
• Strong computer skills, in particular Excel (pivot tables, formulae), PowerPoint and comfortable learning new systems
