Summary of Position:
Lionsgate and Comic-Con International have partnered to launch a new digital subscription video service and online community for the pop culture fan base called Comic-Con HQ
Reporting to the General Manager, the Vice President of Marketing will play a vital role in promoting the SVOD platform and mobilizing a global fan community around original programming, licensed films and TV shows and the world-class events. Responsibilities:
• Own brand strategy and direction.
• Set creative direction and content marketing strategy. Drive creative execution with external and internal teams. Includes print, digital, and video.
• Manage platform partners (i.e. Amazon, Roku, Apple, Google, Samsung, etc.) and develop on platform marketing programs.
• Own Marketing budget, working with Content Acquisition team on paid media spend for digital, social, search, affiliates, etc.
• Develop CRM program and communication strategy with subscribers and potential subscribers.
• Manage marketing teaming including public relations, social, events, and community development.
• Oversee logistics and execution for trade shows and live event activations
Experience & Skills:
• 8+ years relevant experience in brand strategy with a consumer facing brand or brand agency – entertainment, media distribution or subscription experience a huge plus; 2-3 years experience working in the multichannel video programming space also a plus
• Sincere passion for all things pop culture (film, TV, publishing, gaming, podcasts, etc.)
• Demonstrable track record in developing and executing media strategies across multiple channels that resulted in increased customer acquisition and conversion. Case studies encouraged
• Organized and high-energy self-starter with a knack for project management and multi-tasking
• Ability to switch gears and operate comfortably at strategic, creative and tactical levels
• Fluency in managing large-scale media plans responsibly and flexibly
• Experience with traditional and digital/mobile media buying is ideal
• Solid understanding of how analytical data is used to test and optimize campaigns
• Experience with trade shows and live event activations is a plus
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
